Research StudentsStudying at KISD as a research student
As a student from one of our partner universities or from other renown universities you have the opportunity to study as a research student at KISD – this means to do research on a topic or project you have proposed in a respective area of expertise and to be supervised by one of our professors.
You will not only work on your research project, but to a certain extend will be integrated in studies at KISD: Out of our current curricular calendar (it changes every semester) you may choose 1 scientific seminar and 1 short term project. Furthermore you take part in the Mentoring Programme for exchange students and – as an essential part of your studies at KISD – at the lecture »Modern Times«, the Tuesday Talks and the Friday Presentations. In agreement with your supervising professor you may also do a teaching assistance in one of her or his projects.
Please note that we only consider your application, if you have already contacted the professor you nominate to be your supervisor at KISD. Her or his acceptance to supervise your research project is a requirement to be admitted as a research student for one or two semesters at KISD.
Requirements
If you want to study at KISD as a research student, please send the following application documents via email to the International Committee of KISD and to your nominated supervisor:
- letter of motivation (What is your motivation to study at KISD and to research on this topic, in that area of expertise, to be supervised by this professor?)
- letter of reference (Please send us a recommendation from one of your professors.)
