Curriculum Vitae

Björn Bartholdy (born 1965) studied from 1987 to 1991 communication design (graduate) at Merzakademie Stuttgart and from 1992 to 1994 media design (graduate) at Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. In addition freelance as TV designer for Bayerischer Rundfunk, RTL, VOX and VIVA. In 1994 Björn Bartholdy founded „cutup“, agency for media design and worked for the company up to 2002 as managing director and creative director. The agency (major shareholder was Bertelsmann since 1999) had been awarded various national and international prices in the fields of film and television design and new media. From 2002 to mid 2004 Björn Bartholdy was in charge of the sector content strategies at verytv, Cologne. Parallel between 1999 and 2002 he supervised the department „virtual design“ at Filmacademy Baden-Württemberg, Ludwigsburg, and for many years he is board member of „Eyes and Ears of Europe“, the european association for design, promotion and marketing of audiovisual media. Since 2003 Björn Bartholdy is responsible for the department „audiovisual media“ at Köln International School of Design.
