"Twisted Reality" was a short project held at KISD during the winter term of 2006/2007. It's topic was the manipulation of video material. For two weeks every participant was experimenting with spontaneously filmed cityscapes of Cologne. The outcome of those experiments was combined into a music video.
The project gave me the opportunity to familiarize myself with Motion Tracking. For my contribution to the music video I used the software "PFHoe". Techniques like Camera Mapping enabled me to animate buildings and then integrate them into the real video material. This project was a very valuable experience for me, not only because I learned to use new software, but also because it was a very open seminar that gave us room to experiment. I am very pleased with the outcome of the project.
"Twisted Reality" war kurzes Projekt an der Köln International School of Design im Wintersemester 2006/2007. Das Thema war die Manipulation von Videomaterial. Zwei Wochen lang experimentierte jeder der Teilnehmer mit spontan aufgenommenen Stadtszenen. Die Ergebnisse der Experimente wurden zum Schluss zu einem Musikvideo zusammen geschnitten.
Das Projekt gab mir die Gelegenheit, mich in Motion Tracking einzuarbeiten. Für meinen Beitrag verwendete ich die Software "PFHoe". Durch Techniken wie Camera Mapping war es mir möglich gewesen, Gebäude zu animieren und nahtlos in echte Szenen einzufügen. Das Projekt war sehr interessant, weil die offene Aufgabenstellung viel Raum für Experimente ließ. Die Ergebnisse halte ich für überzeugend.
