As a rule, you will receive your campusID in good time before the start of course selection. Should this not be the case, you will enter the second or third phase of the <a href=\"https:\/\/kisd.de\/en\/study\/information\/elections\/\">course selection<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n<details id=\"rules\" class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__header\">\n\t\t<h3>Are there rules to keep in mind when selecting courses?<\/h3>\n\t<\/summary>\n\t<div class=\"accordion__content\">\n\t\t<p>\nYes, you may find them <a href=\"https:\/\/kisd.de\/en\/study\/information\/rules-for-course-selection\/\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n<details id=\"parallel\" class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__header\">\n\t\t<h3>Does \u00bbparallel\u00ab refer to the week or the semester?<\/h3>\n\t<\/summary>\n\t<div class=\"accordion__content\">\n\t\t<p>\nIt refers to the semester.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n<details id=\"parallel-selection\" class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__header\">\n\t\t<h3>Is it possible to select courses or scientific seminars in parallel to short-term projects, so long as the meeting times do not overlap?<\/h3>\n\t<\/summary>\n\t<div class=\"accordion__content\">\n\t\t<p>\nYes, you may do so.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n<details id=\"number-projects\" class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__header\">\n\t\t<h3>How do I know how many projects I should select?<\/h3>\n\t<\/summary>\n\t<div class=\"accordion__content\">\n\t\t<p>\nThe study plan provides an overview of compulsory courses and suggestions for how many Credit Points worth of projects and courses to select in each semester. A recommendation for what to choose in your first semester can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/kisd.de\/en\/study\/information\/freshmen\/\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n<details id=\"last-day\" class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__header\">\n\t\t<h3>Are there disadvantages if I select my courses on the last day of the selection period?<\/h3>\n\t<\/summary>\n\t<div class=\"accordion__content\">\n\t\t<p>\nNo, the final assessment of the selection takes place only after the deadline. The system will take into account all selections submitted until then. However, if all students select their courses on the last day, there might be server problems. So choose your courses earlier.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n<details id=\"second-choice\" class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__header\">\n\t\t<h3>Is there a way to select a second-choice?<\/h3>\n\t<\/summary>\n\t<div class=\"accordion__content\">\n\t\t<p>\nNo, you cannot select alternatives.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n<details id=\"list-of-participants\" class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__header\">\n\t\t<h3>Is it possible to know what I have selected or what the intermediate results are before the list of participants is published?<\/h3>\n\t<\/summary>\n\t<div class=\"accordion__content\">\n\t\t<p>\nDuring the selection week, you may find the current preliminary results of your selection on the course selection platform. However, this status might still change as it is subject to <a href=\"https:\/\/kisd.de\/en\/study\/information\/allocation-of-places\/\">selection priorities<\/a> and other students will also enrol and cancel enrolment. It is advisable to check shortly before the end of the selection period whether you are still listed as a participant in your courses of choice and, where necessary, change your selection to courses with free spots.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n<details id=\"project-seminar\" class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__header\">\n\t\t<h3>I did not get into a project\/seminar! What should I do?<\/h3>\n\t<\/summary>\n\t<div class=\"accordion__content\">\n\t\t<p>\nEven if during the course selection period you were not able to land a spot in any project or seminar (which is possible in the first semester), there are still options to join courses. For one, you may register via Spaces for courses which still have free spots.<\/p>\n<p>To do so, go to the space of the project\/seminar\/course you want to join and register as a participant. If there is no Space available yet, please contact the lecturer by email and ask them to create one. There is further always the option of coming to the first meeting of a course \u2013 often not everybody shows up or the lecturer decides to allow one or two more participants than originally planned.<\/p>\n<p>Our recommendations are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t panic (it\u2019s only your first semester).<\/li>\n<li>If you take a technical course or scientific seminar seriously, it may very well be quite time- and work-intensive.<\/li>\n<li>Wait and see: During the semester, there will sometimes be additional, spontaneous projects advertised on Spaces or via email.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s a good idea to come to the first meeting: Especially when it comes to courses which start during the semester, it\u2019s likely some participants will fail to appear or give up their seats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n<details id=\"reasons\" class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__header\">\n\t\t<h3>Why did I not get into any project and\/or seminar?<\/h3>\n\t<\/summary>\n\t<div class=\"accordion__content\">\n\t\t<p>\nPlease find a detailed explanation of the selection priorities <a href=\"https:\/\/kisd.de\/en\/study\/information\/allocation-of-places\/\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n<details id=\"registration\" class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__header\">\n\t\t<h3>Is it possible to cancel my registration for a course?<\/h3>\n\t<\/summary>\n\t<div class=\"accordion__content\">\n\t\t<p>\nIf you are on the participant list, the lecturer counts on your attendance. If you are unable to attend a chosen course after all, please write an email to the lecturer in good time to make sure your spot can be given to somebody else..<br \/>\n<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n<details id=\"period\" class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__header\">\n\t\t<h3>I have missed the online course selection period. How may I take part in courses anyway?<\/h3>\n\t<\/summary>\n\t<div class=\"accordion__content\">\n\t\t<p>\nIf you have missed the online course selection period, you may try to register via Spaces. To do so, go to the Space of the project\/seminar\/course you want to join and register as a participant. If there is no Space available yet, please contact the lecturer by email and ask them to create one. It is more likely you will be admitted to courses which do still have free spots.
