KISD student Luka Jacke shows his work  “Hot Air Generator” at Mozilla Festival 2024 in Amsterdam.

The Mozilla Festival (MozFest) 2024 takes place from June 12 to 13 in Amsterdam and  is all about “Trustworthy AI”. With the work “Hot Air Generator” by KISD MA student Luka Jacke, it will be showing a work that deals with the tendency of generative AI to hallucinate false information – and how this can be used to create fake news.

The “Hot Air Generator” records the noise of a kettle and then uses various AI models for speech recognition and text generation to turn the noise into a credible but meaningless news article. The generation of content through generative processes thus literally becomes a generation of news from thin air.
