uni-assist Application

Applicants with certificates from abroad must also send their application to uni-assist. There, your national credentials and qualifications are checked to see if they can be admitted to TH Köln.

uni-assist will evaluate your national certificates and qualifications, i.e. whether they qualify in principle for admission to TH Köln. uni-assist was founded to simplify the application procedure for foreign applicants and to support German universities in their selection of students with certificates from abroad.

When should applications be submitted?

Bachelor degree program in »Integrated Design«

All applicants to the Bachelor degree programme must submit their application to uni-assist after successfully passing the KISD aptitude test. Application period: March 1 to May 31.

Master degree program in »Integrated Design«

All applicants to the Master degree programme must submit their application simultaneously to uni-assist and to KISD. Application period:  February 15 to March 31.

What documents need to be submitted?

Please upload scans of your original documents. We reserve the right to check these documents during the enrollment.
Since you are applying to uni-assist in digital form, you do not need to submit any certified documents.
If your documents are issued in a language other than German or English, you are required to submit a translation into German or English by a sworn translator in addition to your original documents.
We also recommend that you bring an set of your authenticated documents with you to Germany. You may need these for further purposes. The certification of foreign-language documents requires a lot of effort and is very time-consuming in Germany.
Bachelor degree programme in »Integrated Design«

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • final grade certificate, any entrance examinations required to study at a university and/or proof of university attendance or a university degree
  • certificate of assessment test (only if you acquired your university entrance qualification at a so-called Studienkolleg)
  • proof of sufficient command of the German language
  • ID card or passport
  • passport photo
  • CV
  • bank transfer receipt of the fees for uni-assist
  • certificate of name change due to marriage (marriage certificate), divorce, etc.
  • applicants from China, Vietnam and Mongolia: APS certificate

 

Master degree program »Integrated Design«

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • final grade certificate , any entrance examinations required to study at a university and/or proof of a university attendance or degree
  • certificate of assessment test (only if you acquired your university entrance qualification at a so-called Studienkolleg)
  • Bachelor Degree Certificate and transcripts
  • proof of sufficient command of English
    (TOEFL with at least 79 points; IELTS 5.0/5.5/6.0)
  • ID card or passport
  • passport photo
  • CV
  • bank transfer receipt of the fees for uni-assist
  • certificate of name change due to marriage
    (marriage certificate), divorce, etc.
  • applicants from China, Vietnam and Mongolia: APS certificate
