Kalman Spelletich will speak about his 40 years as an artist working in art and technology. He will give a brief overview of his oeuvre and demonstrate, live, some machines and robots from his atelier. This work has an emphasis on science, sensors and play. Kal will field questions from those attending the conference.
The San Francisco-based artist and designer Kalman Spelletich was born in Davenport, Iowa (USA), and holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Iowa in Media Art, and a Master’s degree in Media Art from the University of Texas at Austin. Since then, he has been teaching/visiting artist at the MIT, Boston, Columbia University, New York, University of Zagreb, Croatia, University of California, and Universität der Künste, Berlin.
