Two KISD graduates Paulina Porten and Marina Müller as well as Pauline Reimers were recognised for their project FemReality as part of creative.projects 2026 by creative.nrw.
FemReality is an innovative educational project that inspires young people – particularly young women and gender-diverse individuals – to take an interest in technology. Through creative workshops, playful approaches and project-based work, the programme boosts participants’ self-confidence and facilitates access to technical career fields.
On behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, creative.nrw connects and supports key players in the creative industries in NRW. This includes the competition for the ‘creative.projects’ of the year, which took place for the fourth time in 2026. The awards ceremony was held on 11 May 2026 at the TRUDI NRW Creative Cathedral. There, North Rhine-Westphalia’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, Mona Neubaur, presented the awards to an audience of around 70 guests. The award comes with prize money of 2,500 euros and a one-year mentoring programme. We warmly congratulate Paulina Porten, Marina Müller and Pauline Reimers on the award and wish them every success with their future plans.
FemReality’s workshops combine virtual reality, creative project work and gender-sensitive teaching methods. The aim is to create new ways of engaging with technology, to make technical skills tangible and to encourage the development of a personal tech identity.
The team behind FemReality is convinced that those who shape technology will have a decisive influence on the society of tomorrow. At the same time, the tech industry still lacks many perspectives – particularly those of women and gender-diverse people. By focusing on FLINTA* individuals, the project aims to help strengthen participation and equal opportunities in technical fields.
There is also a particular emphasis on expanding partnerships with companies to link educational programmes even more closely with the world of work.
We warmly congratulate Paulina Porten, Marina Müller and Pauline Reimers on their award and wish them every success with their future plans.
