For the first time, KISD hosted the »International Week«. It was a hit and a great learning experience for KISdstudents, staff and our international guests.

Internationalization@home was our goal: We wanted to stimulate intercultural understanding, interdisciplinary exchange and teamwork, and we wanted to offer all participants the opportunity to change perspectives and experience different learning experiences.

A special thanks goes to the design students and teachers of our partner universities who have come all the way to Cologne to join us for this week

Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Finland

HIT Holon Institute of Technology, Israel

Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal

University of Zagreb, Croatia

Politecnico di Milano, Italy

ENSCI – Les Ateliers, France

Universidad de Chile

The week’s overall motto was »Digging«
Digging into our cultures, into soil, a brick into a wall. There are multiple options for digging in the field of design. We wanted to explore some of them, change perspectives of design(ers), use the power of observation and work with our hands. Stimulating international and interdisciplinary exchange and offering an
informal platform for discussing design education.

The various project works have been directed by Andrea Guiseppe Manciaracina, Francesca Mattioli, Andreas Botero Cabrera, Laura Popplow, Anna Luz Pueyo, Ivana Fabrio, Nina Bacun and Udi Cramsky
A very special thanks goes to Lisa Janßen and her dedicated team, the Buddy AG and International AG @kisdinternational, who made this week possible and organized it with great commitment.

Thanks to all who took care!

A video recap of the week will follow.
