Among 32 projects and companies in total, two works of KISD graduates were in mid-November in Berlin awarded with the “Kultur- and Kreativpiloten 2019 Award“. One project was the “Open Press Project“ started by KISD graduate Martin Schneider and carried out in later cooperation with KISD graduate Dominik Schmitz. The other award for a KISD graduate went to Onat Hekimoglu and his partners for the project “Slow Bros – Harold Halibut“. The latter connects analog and digital spaces through interactive experiences. Almost anything can be offered: art installations, games of all kind, and VR-surroundings.
Martin Schneider’s “Open Press Project“ deals with a 3D-printed etching press that makes printmaking accessible for everyone.
The award is organized by the Berlin-based start-up of “Kultur- und Kreativpiloten Deutschland“ which on behalf of the German Federal Government and the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy awards 32 (young) companies for convincing projects in, for example, economic sustainability, innovative courage, and innovative strength.
