Cologne Design Prize 2025 – Exhibition and Award Ceremony

We are delighted to invite you to the 19th award ceremony and exhibition of the “Kölner Design Preis 2025” at the Museum of Applied Arts Cologne (MAKK)!

Once again, the finest projects from Cologne’s design schools have been presented to the expert jury of the Kölner Design Preis. The award winners selected by the jury will be announced at the festive ceremony on 27 November 2025 at 7 p.m. at MAKK.

All nominated works will subsequently be showcased in the accompanying exhibition.

28 November – 7 December 2025, during regular opening hours from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Admission is free.

This year, 39 projects from the following institutions have been nominated:

• KISD – Köln International School of Design: 18 nominees (including two teams of two)

• IFS – Internationale Filmschule Köln: 2 nominees

• Macromedia Campus Cologne: 1 nominee

• Ecosign – Academy for Sustainable Design: 11 nominees (plus an in memoriam contribution)

• Rheinische Hochschule Köln: 7 nominees (including one team of two)

The Kölner Design Preis honours outstanding and forward-looking final projects each year. The award contributes to supporting young creative talent and to strengthening Cologne’s profile as an internationally significant design location.
