KISD – Köln International School of Design of TH Köln will on Saturday, November 4, turn into an “emotion lab“. From 7 pm until 2 am the next day, the interactive exhibition “emotion lab“ invites visitors to discover various emotional stages via design and its different approaches. How do we perceive things, objects, and emotions in changing settings and surroundings? What fits, misfits, appeals, disrupts, generates joy, delight, sorrow, anger, enchantment, and emotion?
Embedded into this year’s 18th edition of Museums’ Night Cologne, this time featuring the topic of “explore“, KISD will on November 4 present selected project works which deal with the subject of “emotion“ – in an experimental, minimalistic, laboratory manner, with installations of light and music, for example with the exhibits “Emotional Rooms“ or “Provoking Intimacy“.
Visitors of KISD can on November 4, 8 pm, also be looking forward to listening to a guest talk by renowned guest speakers Susanne Kleine, curator at Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, and artist Johanna Reich. They will discuss Johanna Reich’s project “Heroines und Amazonen“ and the exhibition “Gregor Schneider – Wand vor Wand“, curated by Susanne Kleine. “Heroines and Amazonen“ deals with youth culture and its role models: the project having been presented to the Cologne public on many advertising boards over the period of six months. The “Gregor Schneider – Wand vor Wand“ exhibition of Bundeskunsthalle Bonn coped with the topic of a one-to-one rooms reproduction in order to provide visitors with that special atmosphere of the room replicated.
The KISD event will from 8 pm until 2 am feature a music program by DJ Max Scholpp, resident DJ at “Zum Scheuen Reh“ club and signed at Kompakt Records and Illusion label.
