The water crisis is the first global risk based on impact to society (as a measure of devastation), as announced by the World Economic Forum. In his KISDtalk, the Dutch material specialist Erik van Buuren will focus on details of the water crisis and the effects on our lives. Which design principles can be developed to stop the crisis? Since 2011, Erik van Buuren runs “Walachei” studio in Berlin which aims at including social and local factors into the realms of design and manufacturing. For more than 20 years, he has been designing and engineering for renowned organizations. As Chief Analyst for sustainable investment funds, he shapes the flow of capital from an environmental, social, and ethical point of view.
