KISD sessions and workshop at the 2019 Cumulus Conference in Rovaniemi
At the 2019 Cumulus conference “Around the Campfire“ with more than 400 participants from the most renowned design schools worldwide attending from May 29 until June 1 in Finland, KISD – Köln International School of Design will host conference sessions including a workshop on “Emerging Formats: Designing Global Collaborations to Build Institutional Strategies“.
With more than 20 invited guests from KISD’s international partner universities, these sessions will discuss both emerging formats, criteria and platforms for an advanced and successful academic collaboration in global design education. How can we share expertise and activities? How can strategic internationalization be brought to a sustainable level? What are the opportunities for design education facing global challenges?
Emerging Formats: Designing Global Collaborations to Build Institutional Strategies
These questions will be addressed during three KISD’s sessions at this year’s Cumulus conference hosted by the University of Lapland, Faculty of Art and Design, in the northern Finnish city of Rovaniemi. Cumulus as a forum for partnership and transfer of knowledge in art and design education and research brings together top-level educational institutions from all parts of the world and consists currently of over 280 members from 56 countries.
KISD – Köln International School of Design as a Cumulus member is looking forward to meeting with its partners in panels and a workshop on May 31.
The agenda: Strengthening existing ties to partners, reaching out to new ones, discussing the latest global developments in design education, and discovering emerging “out-of-the-ordinary” formats to practice, promote and foster international academic collaboration. Friday evening, KISD will host a campfire reception to celebrate long existing and newly established collaborations with academic partners from all over the world.
