In their book published in 2024, KISD Professor Birgit Mager and Professor Meredith Davis (NC State University) show how collaborations between the public sector and Service Design universities can be successfully designed.
University collaborations and student projects in particular are often the entry point for the integration of Service Design into the public sector and thus the gateway to citizen-centred, co-creative and innovation-driven change within the public sector.
The publication ‘How to Public Sector?’ is the result of a Service Design research project and offers Service Design tutors at universities as well as readers who practice in the public sector important insights and tools for successful Service Design cooperations.
The book and the accompanying Miroverse Toolbox support Service Design partners in critically reflecting on the value of these collaborations and developing clear recommendations and tools for success.
