Lecture Series

The lecture series of the Faculty of Cultural Studies in the winter semester 2023 | 24 examines the perspectives of research-based learning in cultural studies, in particular using the example of student research projects that have been developed at the Faculty in cooperation with university research institutions as well as social and cultural institutions. Dr. Birgit Szczyrba from the Center for Teaching Development at the TH Köln will bridge the gap between research and learning in her keynote lecture.

The lecture series of the faculty of cultural studies will explore in the winter term 2022 | 23 research perspectives in the cultural studies, with particular reference to the doctorates being developed at the faculty.

The aim of the event is to work out peculiarities and broader points of contact of doctoral studies at the TH Köln with regard to aspects such as interdisciplinarity, internationality, funding and research concepts. To this end, doctoral students and professors as well as external researchers will present their projects and examine them in light of the above-mentioned aspects. The lecture series is a project of the institutes Cologne Game Lab, Institute of Conservation Sciences and Köln International School of Design and is planned as a prelude to the introduction of further joint research formats.
