The new lecture series on participatory research starts on 14 October and will take place at KISD on five Mondays in October and November this semester. You can expect an exciting programme with interdisciplinary lectures held by the Institute of Energy Technology (TU Dresden), the Faculty of Architecture (TH Köln), the Cologne Game Lab, the KISD and the a.r.t.e.s of the University of Cologne. Two winners of the TH Köln teaching award will also be taking part.
The event examines from an interdisciplinary perspective how participatory methods can be utilised in research projects. We are interested in mobilising the knowledge produced by non-academic actors in partnership to gain new research findings. The lecture series will explore how participatory processes can be realised for the design of research projects for the determination of topics, the framing of questions and the evaluation of materials. Collaborations with the whole range of possible participatory partners, from activists to municipal administrations, will be analysed.
