KISD student Jonas Osburg has collaborated with Atlantis VZW, a Tomatis therapy center for children in St. Truiden, Belgium, to produce an animated case study video. This was part of Jonas’ intermediate project and explores the role of video content as a communication tool for complex therapy concepts.
During the first phase of the project, Jonas conducted in-depth research on how video content can simplify the explanation of therapy practices. Given the complex nature of therapy concepts, visual storytelling can enhance understanding and engagement among patients.
The second phase focused on applying these insights to the Tomatis therapy. After reviewing extensive literature on the procedure, Jonas Osburg distilled the key concepts into a concise script and brought it to life through animation. Additionally, an auditory commentary, voiced by his mother, provides additional information for parents. A mother’s voice plays an essential role in this therapy practice, a detail he found especially meaningful and wanted to integrate in the final video.
The final video is designed primarily for children, Tomatis therapy’s largest audience, helping them grasp why they are undergoing treatment and boosting their intrinsic motivation.
The Video is offered in English and German and subtitled into French, Dutch and Russian.
