The Zukunftslabor (FutureLab) is a place where the administration of the city of Cologne is working on the challenges of digital transformation. Here, employees step out of their usual structure and get to know new ways of working. With the help of service design methods, administrative solutions for citizens are being developed. The FutureLab was opened in April 2019 by Mayoress H. Reker together with City Director Dr. S. Keller and invited the citizens of Cologne to an open day at the beginning of July. The student project developed a concept and prototype for the interior as well as a working process for the FutureLab. This is conceived as an ongoing process and is currently being further developed.
