Interaction design, virtual realities, robotic manufacturing processes and smart materials: Technological development also promotes the design of new learning scenarios.
To uncover and exploit those potentials that new digital technologies bring for inquiry-based learning in design is the goal of the student research project funded by the »Digital Learning Transfer Fellowship« program of the Stifterverband and the Reinhard Frank Foundation. The sponsored KISD students Dorothee Clasen, Oliver Köneke, Sascha Praet and Till Maria Jürgens are developing a cross-faculty and transdisciplinary »Integrated Interactions Lab« at TH Köln, in which novel forms of interaction, human-machine communication, haptic interfaces, hybrid materials, digital fabrication processes, VR spaces and phygital spatial structures are being researched.
The research-based learning project was supported by the »Real-Time City« research center.
