While navigating the crossroads of artificial intelligence, we find ourselves in an era where the digital revolution reshapes the fabric of labour and creativity. In her BA Thesis, KISD studet Dzennifer Zachlod created the experimental short movie “I Will Rather Loose My Job to AI Than My Dad” to emphasize a journey through the landscape of work in the age of AI.
From the outset, the discourse on AI has been plagued by polarizing narratives, ranging from apocalyptic visions to overhyped new technologies. Amidst this AI frenzy, concerns have been mounting over a new industrial evolution that is about to swallow jobs, casting a shadow over professions traditionally considered to be immune to automation, such as artists, designers and the “creative workforce”. The short film explores the complexity of artificial intelligence and its impact on various aspects of society and human experience. Different historical and contemporary events are drawing parallels between ancient quests for transformation and modern pursuits in technology. Human and ethical dimensions of AI are getting touched upon and the future of creative professions in the context of generative AI is being addressed.
